Can the massager be used as part of an anti-cellulite programme, and how do you fit it into your routine properly?

Lyapko Faraon Plastmassöör is suitable for self-massage of the thighs and buttocks — the areas most often included in anti-cellulite programmes. The mechanical action of the textured elements increases local blood circulation and helps relieve the feeling of heaviness and stiffness in these areas.

To fit the massager into your routine purposefully, there are a few things to bear in mind:

  • Timing of the session. The body must be warmed up before an anti-cellulite massage — most conveniently after a shower or light physical activity, when the skin is warm and the muscles are more receptive. It can also be used after sitting for a long time, when your legs feel congested.
  • Movement technique. The classic direction for massaging the thighs and buttocks is from the bottom up, starting from the knees, towards the inguinal lymph nodes. Avoid direct pressure on the groin and the hollows behind the knees, where large blood vessels and lymph nodes are located.
  • Duration. 3–7 minutes is enough for a toning massage, and more than 15 minutes for a relaxing one.
  • Regularity. One-off sessions give a temporary relaxing effect. For a noticeable result as part of an anti-cellulite programme, massage is usually combined with physical activity and an adjusted diet — the massager on its own does not replace these components.

Do not use the massager on areas with damaged skin, boils, pustules or enlarged lymph nodes, or if you have a fever or an acute condition. If you have a chronic vascular or skin condition, consult a specialist beforehand.
