ALTAI SPECIALIST milk thistle oil is produced by cold pressing, without intensive heat treatment of the seeds. This is precisely what allows the fatty acid composition and sensitive plant compounds, including flavonoids of the silymarin group, to be preserved. When heated to frying temperatures, such components break down, and the oil itself may develop an unwanted aftertaste and start to smoke.
That is why it is usually added to dishes that are already cooked, or to cold dishes:
Salads — as a dressing or part of a dressing based on several oils.
Porridges and grain dishes — a small amount of oil is added to the cooked, slightly cooled porridge.
Vegetable mixes and snacks — drizzle before serving.
Smoothies or protein shakes — if you are used to enriching drinks with plant oils.
The characteristic mild taste of cold-pressed milk thistle oil goes well with neutral grains and fresh vegetables. A small natural sediment at the bottom of the bottle is normal for minimally processed oil; before use it is enough to gently mix the contents.
