Can people with sensitive skin use the cream-balm — and how can they check how their skin reacts?

The cream-balm contains camphor and cinnamon and ginger essential oils — ingredients with a pronounced warming and stimulating action. In people with sensitive skin they can cause a more intense feeling of warmth, slight redness or a burning sensation than in those whose skin is used to such products.

Before the first full application, a test on a small area is recommended: apply a little cream to the inside of your wrist or the crook of your elbow and wait 15–20 minutes. If the skin reacts only with mild warmth, without burning, itching or marked irritation, the product will most likely suit you. If the reaction is strong or unpleasant, it is better not to use it.

It is also worth bearing in mind that the intensity of the sensation depends on the amount of product and how vigorously it is rubbed in: the more vigorous the massage and the more product applied, the stronger the effect. With sensitive skin, it makes sense to start with a small amount and gentle movements.

Do not apply the cream-balm to damaged, inflamed or irritated skin — this will increase the discomfort. If you take medicines that affect the skin or have chronic skin conditions, consult a doctor before use.
