Can cedar nut oil be used for frying? — Cedar oil 250 ml - Altai Specialist

The cards do not say directly anything about frying or the permitted heating temperature. The Estonian description says: the oil is suitable for preparing food and as an addition to salads and other dishes; it is intended for oral consumption and can be consumed on its own or with food. According to the description, it is an unrefined cedar nut oil (first cold pressing); the card allows natural sediment. After opening, use within 3 months; storage: at +5…+25 °C in a dry, dark place out of the reach of children.

General information (not a manufacturer's instruction): cold-pressed unrefined oils are usually added to ready dishes rather than heated — on strong heating the taste and aroma change and the oil may start to smoke; the amount should be chosen with the overall diet in mind (900 kcal per 100 g). If you are trying the oil for the first time, start with a small amount; if you tend to be allergic to nuts and seeds, consult a specialist first (the oil may contain traces of nut, sesame and mustard oils).
