Can this serum be used instead of sunscreen?

The serum contains UVA/UVB filters, and these really do add a basic screen against the sun's rays, which is particularly relevant for ordinary everyday activities in town. However, it is important to understand the difference: dedicated sun protection products are developed with a precise SPF value that undergoes standardised testing. In the case of this serum, the level of protection is not declared as an SPF, and the manufacturer does not position it as a replacement for sunscreen.

The best routine therefore looks like this: apply the serum after cleansing as your moisturising step, and on top of it an SPF cream if you plan to spend time outdoors, especially during the sunniest hours. This approach gives you both hydration and reliable sun protection at the same time.

If you stay indoors for most of the day or go out only briefly in cloudy weather, the filters in the serum are an added bonus to your routine. But when you are actively out in the sun — on the beach, in the mountains or on long walks — a proper sunscreen with a stated SPF remains essential.
