Can this cream be used if the skin on your heels is cracked?

Urea at a concentration of 20% is an active ingredient that helps soften dense, keratinised areas of skin and retain moisture in them. That is why creams like this are often chosen for pronounced dryness and roughness of the feet.

However, if there are open or deep cracks, applying the cream to the damaged areas is not recommended: a high concentration of urea can cause irritation on skin that has lost its protective barrier. The formula also contains menthol, which has a refreshing effect but can increase discomfort on damaged skin.

If the cracks are shallow and the skin around them is not inflamed, the cream can be applied around the damaged areas, avoiding the cracks themselves. This will gradually soften the hardened skin around them without affecting the sensitive spots.

If the cracks are deep, painful or inflamed, it is worth consulting a specialist — such conditions may require a different approach to care.
