AromaSaules “Tar” thick soap can be used to wash your hair — this is stated directly in the product description. The birch tar it contains helps remove excess sebum, so this soap is particularly suitable for people with an oily scalp: hair stays fresh at the roots for longer, and the feeling of heaviness is reduced.
If your hair or scalp tends to be dry, however, the picture is different. Tar is an active cleansing ingredient, and with regular use on dry hair without additional care, the hair may become even drier. The D-panthenol in the formula partly softens this effect by retaining moisture, but it cannot always fully meet the needs of dry hair.
A practical tip: if you want to try this soap on your hair but your hair is not oily, use it not as your main product for every wash but occasionally — for a deeper cleanse. Always apply a conditioner or mask after washing to restore the moisture balance. Long, dry hair needs conditioner in particular — apply it along the lengths, avoiding the roots.
The plant extracts in the formula — nettle, burdock, hops — are traditionally added to scalp care products, while chamomile and sage are known for their soothing effect. This makes the formula milder than a simple tar soap, but does not remove the need for extra moisturising for dry hair.
