A dose of 1000 mg is significantly higher than the average daily intake of vitamin C for an adult. For most healthy people this amount is tolerated normally, but in some cases it is worth assessing the advisability in advance.
Sensitive stomach. Ascorbic acid can increase acidity and cause discomfort, heartburn or a laxative effect at high doses. Taking it with food reduces this risk.
Tendency to form kidney stones. Vitamin C is metabolised with the formation of oxalates, which, in case of predisposition, may increase the load on the kidneys.
Taking other complexes in parallel. If multivitamins or other supplements already contain ascorbic acid, the total dose may turn out higher than necessary.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, any high-dose supplements require prior agreement with a doctor. The product may contain traces of milk, soy, peanuts, nuts, sesame, gluten, eggs, crustaceans and fish, so if you have the corresponding allergy, do not take it. Do not use it in case of individual intolerance to its components. The product is not intended for the diagnosis, treatment or prevention of diseases and does not replace a balanced diet.
