Who should be more careful, and how should the rosehips be stored?

Rosehip is a plant product, so reactions to it are individual. If you are prone to allergic reactions or are particularly sensitive to plant ingredients, start with a small amount of the drink and go by your own tolerance. If you have a chronic condition, take medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is worth consulting a specialist before drinking it regularly.

As for storage, the general rules for dried herbs and blends apply to dried rosehips:

  • keep the rosehips in a dry place, protected from moisture – the main enemy of dried plant material;
  • if possible, store them in a tightly closed container so that they do not absorb other odours or become damp;
  • protect them from direct sunlight, which weakens the aroma over time;
  • follow the best-before date and storage conditions stated on the packaging.

When stored properly, the rosehips retain their rich flavour and characteristic tartness for longer. If the product has become damp or its smell or appearance has changed, it should not be used.
