Although its ingredients are of plant origin, the syrup contains biologically active substances that may interact with medicines or affect how you feel in certain conditions.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: the syrup is not used during this period.
- Taking medication: some herbs, including St John's wort, which is part of the syrup, are known to interact with a number of medicines – in particular antidepressants and anticoagulants. If you take any medication on a regular basis, a consultation is essential.
- Chronic conditions: the syrup is not used in cases of impaired carbohydrate metabolism and diabetes (the first ingredient listed is sugar), increased nervous excitability, insomnia, high blood pressure, heart rhythm disorders or severe atherosclerosis; with other chronic conditions, discuss it with a specialist before starting a course.
- Sensitivity to invigorating products: if even a small amount of coffee or tea causes palpitations or anxiety, adaptogens should also be approached with caution.
The syrup is intended for adults only; it is not used in cases of individual intolerance to its ingredients, and consulting a doctor before you start taking it is recommended.
