Although magnesium and vitamin B6 are familiar nutrients present in an ordinary diet, as a supplement they are supplied in concentrated form. This makes consulting a specialist important in several situations.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding. During these periods, as with children, the product is not used: it is intended for adults only.
Chronic kidney disease. The kidneys regulate the excretion of magnesium from the body. If their function is impaired, excess magnesium may build up.
Taking medication. Magnesium interacts with a number of medicines — in particular some antibiotics, diuretics and heart medications. Taking them at the same time needs to be agreed with a doctor.
You already use other complexes with magnesium or B6. The total intake of these substances from several sources may exceed the recommended levels, especially for vitamin B6, a prolonged excess of which is undesirable.
If you are allergic to any of the ingredients, do not take the supplement, and do not exceed the recommended daily serving (3 tablets). For healthy adults without the factors listed above, the supplement at the standard dose is usually well tolerated. Nevertheless, it is a food supplement, not a medicine, and it is not a substitute for a balanced diet.
