Who should not drink hop infusion without consulting a doctor?

Although hop cones are a traditional herbal product with a long history of use in European herbal medicine, they contain biologically active substances: bitter compounds, flavonoids, polyphenols and volatile compounds. This means that in some situations their use calls for caution.

Consult a specialist before use if you:

  • are pregnant or breastfeeding;
  • take sedatives, sleeping pills or other medicines that affect the nervous system — the plant components of hops may enhance their effect;
  • are taking other food supplements with a calming effect at the same time;
  • have chronic conditions, especially hormone-related ones — hops contain phytoestrogens, and in certain conditions this may be significant;
  • are prone to allergic reactions to plants of the hemp family (Cannabaceae).

The product is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent disease and does not replace a balanced diet. If you notice unwanted reactions after you start using it, stop using it and see a doctor.
