Zinc is an essential trace element that the body does not synthesise on its own and gets only from food or supplements. Its main sources in the diet are meat, seafood, legumes, nuts and whole grain products. If these foods are scarce on the menu or are eaten irregularly, the intake of zinc may be insufficient.
The supplement is more often added to the diet in periods of unbalanced nutrition, high physical or emotional load and stress, and in seasons when the diet becomes poorer in micronutrients. Zinc takes part in cell division, DNA and protein synthesis, the work of enzyme systems, support of immunity and the protection of cells from oxidative stress. It is also linked to the metabolism of carbohydrates, fatty acids and vitamin A, to cognitive processes, to the condition of skin and hair, and to reproductive function, which is why both men and women often include it in their diet.
The tablet format is convenient for a long course: it is easy to fit into the daily nutrition routine without extra effort.
At the same time, the supplement does not replace a full diet and is not intended for the treatment or prevention of diseases. Before taking it during pregnancy, breastfeeding, with chronic diseases or when taking other minerals at the same time, it is worth consulting a specialist.
