When is the OLKO 2.5 x 7.2 cm plaster suitable, and when is it not enough?

The plaster is designed for small superficial injuries: cuts, grazes, scratches, a puncture site after an injection or a blood test, and a stitched area that needs protecting from friction and dirt. The 2.5 x 7.2 cm size fits well on fingers, hands and forearms — where a large dressing is not needed.

The absorbent pad takes up a small amount of discharge and reduces contact between the injured area and clothing. The breathable backing reduces the risk of the skin becoming macerated under the dressing. The adhesive edge keeps the plaster in place during normal activity.

When a plaster alone is not enough:

  • The wound is deep, bleeds heavily or does not stop bleeding within a few minutes — it needs a medical assessment.
  • The injury is extensive and goes beyond the size of the plaster.
  • There are signs of inflammation: increasing redness, swelling, warmth or pus — this is a reason to see a doctor, not just to change the plaster.
  • An injury on the face, over a joint or in an area with impaired circulation requires separate advice.

If your skin tends to react to adhesive materials, keep an eye on the skin around the plaster: redness or itching under the edge is a signal to remove the dressing and stop using the product: the adhesive layer is hypoallergenic, but individual sensitivity to the materials is still possible.
