When is a zinc supplement usually chosen, and who might it suit?

Zinc is a basic trace element involved in the work of enzymes, cell division and tissue renewal. That is why it is often added to the diet during certain periods rather than taken constantly for no particular reason.

A zinc supplement is most often chosen:

  • During the cold season — zinc is involved in the functioning of the immune system, and interest in it traditionally grows in the colder months.
  • When the seasons change or the diet is monotonous — if your diet has temporarily become less varied, it is easier to top up the trace element with a supplement than to overhaul your menu.
  • During busy periods — stress and an intense pace of life can affect the body's need for trace elements.
  • When changes in the skin, hair or nails are noticed — brittle nails, thinning hair or sensitive skin are sometimes linked to an insufficient intake of zinc from food.

The product is intended for adults. It is not used by people who are hypersensitive to its ingredients. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medicines or have chronic diseases, consult a doctor before you start taking it. The supplement is not a substitute for a balanced diet and is not intended to treat or prevent diseases.
