There is no strict schedule for a protective hand cream — it is applied when the skin needs it. There are several situations in which applying it is particularly worthwhile:
After washing your hands — water and soap wash away part of the skin's natural lipid layer; the cream helps restore the barrier and reduce the feeling of tightness.
Before contact with household chemicals — detergents are harsher than ordinary soap, so the label advises applying the cream in advance, before cleaning or washing up.
Before going outside in cold or windy weather — the barrier ingredients (dimethicone, beeswax) help reduce the impact of adverse conditions on the skin.
At night — if your skin is very dry, applying it before bed gives the ingredients more time to work without being washed off.
The number of applications per day is determined individually. If you wash your hands often — for example, when caring for children or in a medical setting — the cream can be used after every wash. With moderate exposure, 2–3 times a day is enough.
A small amount of cream is usually enough: the formula with micro-oils spreads thinly and absorbs quickly, so there is no need for more. If a film remains after application, you have most likely used too much.
If your skin is very sensitive or tends to react to fragranced products, apply the cream to a small area and wait a few hours before using it regularly. The cream is not used by people who are hypersensitive to its ingredients, and if an allergic reaction occurs, stop using it and see a doctor; avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes.
