Copper darkens under the influence of moisture, oxygen and acids, including those found in sweat and cosmetics. This is a natural process, but it can be slowed down.
What helps keep the bracelet looking good:
Take the bracelet off before a shower, swimming and washing your hands, because prolonged contact with water speeds up oxidation.
Put the bracelet on after applying creams, perfume and other cosmetics, not before, because the chemical components of cosmetics react with copper.
After wearing, wipe the bracelet with a soft dry cloth to remove traces of sweat.
Store the bracelet in a dry place, preferably in a closed box or bag, which slows contact with the air.
If the bracelet has already darkened and you want to restore a lighter shade, you can carefully wipe the surface with a soft cloth lightly moistened with lemon juice or a solution of water and vinegar, then rinse it thoroughly and dry it. This is a standard way of cleaning copper items at home.
If you like the darkening and the patina, no special care is needed: the bracelet will "age" naturally, keeping the character of a natural material.
