How do you care for an elastic support so it lasts longer? — Kneerest (OPEN BOX) 513b-2

Although exact recommendations are always given on the packaging or the item's label, general care rules apply to elastic supports that help preserve the material's tension.

What is usually worth taking into account:

• hand-wash in cool or slightly warm water with a mild detergent;
• avoid hot water, bleaches and aggressive stain removers, which destroy elastic fibres;
• don't wring with force — it's better to gently squeeze out excess water by wrapping the support in a towel;
• dry flat away from radiators, heaters and direct sun;
• don't iron or tumble-dry unless the manufacturer allows it.

It's convenient to store the item in a dry place away from heat sources. If the elastic has stretched over time and no longer gives a snug fit, it's better to replace the support — material that has lost its tension no longer provides the compression for which it is used.
