How should the support be cared for so it keeps its shape and elasticity longer? — Elbow brace

Question about the product Elbow brace €3.00 Go to product arrow-right

The support is made of cotton and rubber (elastic) fibres. Cotton tolerates washing well, but the rubber threads are sensitive to high temperatures and harsh detergents — they can lose their springiness and stop providing the needed compression.

  • Washing — hand-washing in cool or lukewarm water (no higher than 30–40 °C) with a mild detergent, without bleach or fabric softeners, is recommended.
  • Wringing — don't twist the item: press out the water gently by rolling it in a towel, so as not to deform the elastic fibres.
  • Drying — dry it laid flat on a horizontal surface in the shade. Direct sunlight and radiators speed up the aging of the rubber.
  • Storage — store the support laid flat or loosely rolled, without strong compression, away from sharp objects.

If after several washes the support has noticeably stretched and no longer sits snugly on the elbow, its compression properties have decreased — in that case it makes sense to replace the item.
