How should TEAVIT dried rosehips be brewed?

The format of whole or crushed dried rosehips is convenient because you control the strength of the drink yourself. The general principle is simple: the more rosehips you use and the longer they steep, the more pronounced the flavour, with its characteristic slight tartness.

There are two usual ways to prepare it:

  • Infusion – the rosehips are covered with hot water and left to steep under a lid. Whole rosehips usually need more time than crushed ones, so an infusion of whole berries is best left to steep for longer.
  • Decoction – the rosehips are briefly heated over a low flame and the drink is then left to steep. This way the flavour develops faster.

The finished drink can be strained to remove bits of fruit and fine hairs. If you like, drink it warm instead of ordinary tea. The strength is easy to adjust to your taste: start with a small amount of rosehips and change the proportions the next time you brew. The product contains no unnecessary additives, so it suits those who prefer simple herbs and blends.
