Woolly erva (Aerva lanata) is whole dried and cut plant material used to make a water infusion. The standard way to brew it: measure out 3 teaspoons of the herb (approximately 1.2 g), pour a glass (200 ml) of boiling water over it and leave it to infuse under a lid for 10–15 minutes. Then strain through a fine sieve or tea strainer.
The infusion is best drunk freshly made: if kept for a long time, its taste and composition change. If you brew a large amount at once, store it in the fridge for no longer than 24 hours.
Since the packaging may state the manufacturer's specific recommendation on the amount of herb and the infusion time, follow that first and foremost. The general rule for herbal teas is not to exceed the recommended amount: a stronger infusion does not mean a more pronounced effect, but it may put more strain on the body.
The easiest way is to make the tea part of your daily routine: the manufacturer recommends that adults drink 1 glass 1–2 times a day with meals. This helps you remember to drink it regularly and fits the herbal drink into your diet with no extra effort.
