How should this tea be brewed to get the best flavour?

According to the instructions, the pyramid bag is covered with boiling water (100 °C): water that has had time to cool will not fully release the aroma.

The brewing time is 3–5 minutes. The longer it steeps, the richer and slightly more astringent the taste will be, so for a milder infusion 3 minutes is enough. The pyramid can be left in the mug for the whole brewing time: the format lets the leaves move freely in the water, which improves extraction.

One pyramid is usually brewed per mug; the volume of water is not stated on the pack, so it is chosen to taste. If you like, you can brew it a second time: fermented willowherb tea usually stands up well to a second infusion, although the result will be lighter and milder.

Adding sugar, honey or milk is a matter of taste: the tea goes well with honey, which brings out its natural sweetness. Lemon also works, although it may slightly change the colour of the infusion; this is a normal reaction of plant pigments to acid.
