How do you prepare Leovit kissel, and can you drink it cold?

Pour the contents of one sachet (20 g) into a mug or glass, add 150–180 ml of boiling water, stir and leave to stand for 1–2 minutes; the amount of water determines how thick the drink will be. The starch and oat flour in the product give it its characteristic smooth, coating texture precisely when it is made with hot water; the less water you use, the thicker the kissel will be.

It can also be drunk chilled: prepare it as usual, let it cool a little, then put it in the fridge. Once chilled, the texture becomes thicker, which is normal for starch-based drinks. Some people prefer it this way in warm weather.

Stir it thoroughly so that no lumps remain, as starch and flour tend to clump if not mixed well enough. The easiest way is to add a small amount of water first, stir until smooth, and then add the rest.

The spices in the product (barberry, coriander and bay leaf) give it a spicy note that comes through more strongly when the drink is hot. When it is chilled, the flavour is milder.
