According to the label, take 1–2 tablespoons and wash them down with a glass of water or kefir, 1–3 times a day; the mix can also be stirred into that glass.
The key condition when consuming any fibre is enough fluid throughout the day. Fibre absorbs water; if you drink too little, the contents of the intestines become firmer rather than softer. As a guide, aim for at least 1.5–2 litres of water a day, although your exact needs depend on your weight, activity and climate.
If you have hardly eaten any fibre before, start with a small amount and increase the portion gradually. Suddenly introducing a large amount of fibre often causes bloating and discomfort — this is the intestines reacting to an unfamiliar load, not a sign of a problem with the product.
If you have sensitive digestion or a flare-up of a stomach or bowel condition, or if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medicines, consult a specialist before regular use. The product is not recommended for stomach or intestinal ulcer disease, and it is not used in case of hypersensitivity to its ingredients. Wheat grain husks come from a gluten-containing cereal, so the product is not suitable for people with coeliac disease or a wheat allergy.
