How should the procedure with ear phyto-candles be carried out correctly and what is needed for it? — Ear candles N 2

According to the card, the procedure is carried out only with an assistant. A glass of water, ear phyto-candles, a cotton swab, a protective cardboard disc about 10 cm in diameter and a towel are needed. The person lies on their side and the area around the ear is covered with a towel; the candle is inserted by its matt end into the opening of the disc, the opposite end is lit and the candle is placed upright at the entrance to the ear. When it has burned down to the marked line, the candle is put out in water, then the outer ear canal is cleaned with a cotton swab and the procedure is repeated for the other ear. After it, a rest of 15–20 minutes is recommended, and wetting the head straight away is not recommended.

General information (not a manufacturer's instruction): the procedure involves an open flame near the ear and burns are possible; there is no reliable evidence of benefit from ear candles, and in case of pain, congestion or discharge from the ear a doctor is needed.
