A turpentine bath differs from an ordinary bath: gum turpentine actively stimulates the skin's capillaries, so it is important to follow a few practical rules.
- Water temperature. A temperature of about 37–39 °C is considered optimal — warm enough to enhance the effect of the emulsion but without overheating. Water that is too hot combined with turpentine can put excessive strain on the blood vessels.
- Amount of emulsion. The manufacturer states the exact dosage on the packaging — follow it and do not increase it on your own in the hope of a stronger effect.
- Duration. 10–15 minutes is usually recommended. Staying longer in a bath with an active ingredient does not increase the benefit but can cause skin irritation or discomfort.
- After the procedure. It is recommended to rinse off with warm water, dry yourself with a soft towel and rest for 20–30 minutes — the body keeps ‘working’ for some time after the bath.
- Frequency. According to the scheme on the label, baths are taken every other day, and a course is at least 30 baths. Daily use without breaks is not recommended: the skin and blood vessels need time to recover between procedures.
If pronounced burning, redness or other unpleasant sensations appear, stop the procedure and consult a specialist.
