How do I correctly prepare an infusion of great burnet root? — Burnet rhizome with roots 50G - Lekraset

Roots and rhizomes are dense parts of the plant, so they already come chopped in the pack: this way, the substances pass into the infusion more easily when steeped in hot water. According to the instructions, the herb does not need to be boiled.

According to the instructions on the pack, the infusion is prepared as follows:

  • Pour 1 glass of hot boiled water over 1 tablespoon of the herb.
  • Leave to infuse for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Allow to cool and squeeze out the herb.
  • Add 200 ml of boiled water to the resulting infusion; take 1 tablespoon 3 times a day.

The finished infusion has a characteristic astringent taste – the result of its high tannin content, which is what defines the main action of great burnet. Keep it in a cool place for no more than 2 days.

The product is easy to fit into your home routine in courses – for example, during a change of diet or seasonal changes in what you eat. It is not used in cases of individual intolerance; if an allergic reaction occurs, stop taking it and see a doctor. If you have a chronic condition, are pregnant, are prone to constipation or take medication, it is worth consulting a specialist before use.
