The size of a knee orthosis is determined by the circumference of the knee — the measurement is taken with a tape measure around the most prominent points of the kneecap. This is exactly the value given in Torex's size chart, not height or weight. Before buying, check the size chart for model 513-5 specifically.
A few practical pointers:
The brace should fit snugly over the whole surface, but must not cut into the skin or leave deep marks after removal.
You should be able to fit your fingers freely under the edge of the product — a sign that the compression is not excessive.
If the knee circumference is on the border between two sizes, the larger one is usually chosen, especially if you are prone to swelling.
When putting it on, pull the brace from bottom to top, centring the opening (if there is one) exactly over the kneecap. Folds and twisting are not recommended: they create uneven pressure and reduce the effect. After putting it on, it is worth bending and straightening the knee a few times — the brace should sit evenly and not shift.
The beige-coloured model allows it to be worn under clothing almost unnoticeably, which is convenient for long daily use.
