The balm is intended for external use and is applied directly to the skin over the area of discomfort: a small amount is rubbed in with massaging movements until fully absorbed. The texture of the rub balm is denser than that of gels: it stays on the skin longer and does not evaporate quickly, which lets the active ingredients work gradually.
It is most often applied to:
the lower back and back — for a feeling of stiffness after long periods of sitting or physical exertion;
the shoulders and neck — for tension after working at a computer or holding a static posture;
the knees and calves — after an active day, walks or workouts;
the feet — for tired legs, especially in the cooler months.
The balm is also applied locally to areas after bruises or sprains, when a local warming and counter-irritant effect is wanted. Important: the product is not applied to broken skin, mucous membranes or particularly sensitive areas of the body.
Before the first use, it is recommended to apply a small amount of the balm to a limited area of skin and wait a few minutes; this lets you assess your individual reaction, since turpentine and camphor can cause a pronounced irritating sensation.
