The soap is intended for local treatment of soiled areas before washing, not for soaking the whole item. The standard procedure is as follows:
Lightly moisten the soiled area with water.
Rub the bar of soap directly onto the stain, or work up a lather in your hands and apply the foam to the fabric.
Gently work the product into the fibres — with a soft brush or your fingers.
Leave for 10–15 minutes so that the soap has time to act on the stain; old stains can be treated twice.
Wash the item as usual or rinse the treated area thoroughly.
The soap copes well with grease, food marks, cosmetics and street dust — it is on such stains that the alkaline lather based on fatty acid salts works most effectively. Fresh stains usually come out more easily than old ones.
Collars and cuffs, which get dirty regularly, can conveniently be treated with the soap just before each wash — this prevents stubborn dirt from building up in the fibres.
It is best to keep the bar in a dry place so that it does not get soggy between uses — this way it keeps its shape longer and lasts longer.
