How should you use the oil from the kit — apply it to dry or damp hair? — Hair Growth Stimulating Kit, 1 pc -VICTORIA BEAUTY

The oil from the Victoria Beauty kit is meant to be applied to dry or slightly damp hair before shampoo — it is a pre-wash oil treatment. Applying it to wet hair is less effective: water forms a barrier and stops the oil from reaching the scalp and the hair shaft properly.

Here is the order of steps:

  • Part your hair into sections — the brush from the kit helps you do this neatly and spread the product evenly along each parting.
  • Apply the oil to the roots and, if you like, along the length — the castor base is quite thick, so a small amount is usually enough.
  • Gently run the brush over the treated areas: this helps lightly exfoliate dead skin cells and spread the product evenly without excessive rubbing by hand.
  • Leave the oil on for 20–30 minutes (or longer, if time allows), then rinse thoroughly with shampoo — you may need to shampoo twice because of the castor oil in the formula.

The optimal frequency is 1–2 times a week. Using an oil treatment before every wash does not add any extra benefit and can weigh hair down, especially fine hair.

The rosemary essential oil in the formula has a strong scent and creates a light tingling sensation on the skin — this is normal. If the discomfort feels strong, rinse the product off sooner and use a smaller amount next time.
