There's no single «right» time to take whey protein — it all depends on your schedule and goals. It's most often used in a few scenarios:
After a workout. The muscles take a load and the body needs protein to recover. A shake right after the gym is a quick and convenient way to provide it.
A supplement to breakfast. If your morning meal contains little protein (porridge, toast, fruit), a serving of protein helps balance it.
A snack during the day. When there's no time for a proper meal, a shake helps you avoid a protein shortfall and keeps you feeling full for longer.
The powder mixes easily in a shaker with water or milk. Milk gives a richer flavour and adds extra protein; water is a lighter option with fewer calories. It can also be added to smoothies, yoghurt, porridge or homemade desserts — the vanilla flavour fits most such dishes well.
The optimal number of servings per day depends on your overall diet: protein makes up for what's missing from food, rather than being added on top of an already sufficient amount of protein. If you have sensitivity to dairy products, chronic conditions or special circumstances (pregnancy, taking medication), it's worth consulting a specialist before regular use.
