The exact storage conditions and shelf life are always stated on the packaging, and these are what you should follow first and foremost. There are, however, general rules typical of unrefined vegetable oils, and this product is one of them.

Unrefined oils are sensitive to light, heat and contact with air — over time these change the flavour, and the natural substances are less well preserved. It is therefore best to keep the oil:

• in a tightly closed bottle to limit contact with air;
• in a dry, dark place at a temperature of +5 to +25 °C, away from the cooker and direct sunlight;
• after opening — tightly closed, using it within 3 months.

Since the product is not meant for frying and is used in small amounts, a 250 ml bottle usually lasts a long time — which makes it all the more important not to keep an open bottle somewhere warm. If the taste or smell has changed noticeably, it is better not to use the product.
