How does fennel work together with the other ingredients in the formula?

In terms of quantity, the formula is dominated by extracts of Prunus spinosa (blackthorn, 200 mg per capsule) and Prunus mume (Japanese apricot, 100 mg), whereas rhubarb extract accounts for 50 mg; blackthorn, in particular, contains flavonoids — quercetin glycosides and kaempferol glycosides.

Fennel has a different task in this combination. It is traditionally included in digestive blends precisely because it helps reduce a feeling of heaviness, distension or cramping — side effects that sometimes occur when taking stimulant herbal products. The formula is thus built on the principle of "action + softening": some ingredients activate motility, while fennel makes the process more tolerable.

This does not mean that discomfort is ruled out completely — the reaction to plant ingredients is individual.
