How long can you drink this tea, and why should you not use it all the time?

Fitera Green Slim contains senna — a herb that is not recommended for continuous use over a long period. This is a general rule for all products with anthraquinone laxative ingredients and has nothing to do with a particular brand.

With regular and prolonged use of senna, the bowel may adapt to external stimulation, which over time can reduce its natural motility. In addition, frequent use of laxative herbs carries a risk of disturbing the water and electrolyte balance — especially if you are prone to diarrhoea or do not drink enough fluids.

According to the label, the tea is drunk as a 2–3-week course — for example, when your diet has become heavier or more irregular and you want to support digestive comfort. After such a period it is sensible to take a break.

Particular caution is needed if you have a sensitive digestive tract or a tendency to loose stools — in these cases it is better to discuss taking it with a doctor beforehand. Tea with senna is contraindicated during pregnancy, breastfeeding, diarrhoea and acute gastrointestinal diseases.
