R.O.C.S. Whitening toothpaste is described as using a milder whitening approach based on surface polishing rather than harsh bleaching. It also contains Mineralin® multi-mineral complex, including minerals such as calcium, magnesium and phosphorus compounds, which are associated with enamel strength and resistance to wear. However, this does not mean every mouth will tolerate a whitening toothpaste equally well.
If your teeth are already very sensitive, if enamel is worn, or if whitening products have caused irritation before, start with attention to how your mouth feels during and after brushing. Practical signs to watch for include sharper sensitivity to cold, a stinging feeling on the gums, or discomfort that was not present before. Brushing pressure also matters: use a soft toothbrush and gentle movements, because pressing harder can increase irritation and does not improve the polishing effect.
If discomfort or irritation appears, stop using the toothpaste and ask a dental professional for advice. This is especially important if sensitivity is sudden, persistent or affects one specific tooth, because toothpaste choice may not be the main issue.
