This product may be useful if your hair becomes oily or heavy at the roots while the ends stay dry. The scalp can collect sebum, sweat, dead cells and residue from styling products or dry shampoo. When that build-up remains around the roots, hair may lose volume sooner and feel weighed down even if the lengths do not need more cleansing.
The key is to apply the exfoliator to the scalp only. Work in partings and use a small amount across the root area instead of spreading it through the mid-lengths and ends. After the required contact time, shampoo as usual. If your ends are dry, you can still follow with your usual conditioner or mask on the lengths, while keeping richer products away from the scalp if they tend to make your roots flat.
Because this is an enzymatic exfoliator, it does not rely on rough scrub particles. Enzymes help loosen dead skin cells so they can be washed away, which is generally a gentler approach than massaging abrasive grains into the scalp. That can be especially relevant for fine hair or for people who dislike mechanical scrubs near the roots. It is still best not to overuse it: one or two applications per week is the typical range, and once weekly may be enough if your scalp is easily irritated.
