Is the tingling sensation from this pre-workout normal or something to be concerned about?

Yes, a tingling or flushing sensation, often called paraesthesia, is a common and generally harmless effect associated with beta-alanine, the form used here being CarnoSyn®. This is not an allergic reaction but a normal physiological response for many people, typically starting within 15-30 minutes of consumption and subsiding within an hour. It's caused by the interaction of beta-alanine with nerve endings in the skin. The sensation is usually most noticeable in the face, neck, and hands. While it can be intense for some, it is not a sign of danger. If you find the sensation uncomfortable, you can try splitting your single serving into two halves consumed 30-60 minutes apart, or starting with a half serving to assess your tolerance.

It's important to distinguish this tingling from any symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as hives, swelling, or difficulty breathing, which would require immediate medical attention. If you have a known sensitivity to niacin (vitamin B3), which can cause a similar flushing reaction, you may want to be particularly cautious.
