Is SATTVA castor oil suitable for daily use on the face, or is it too heavy?

SATTVA Cosmetic Castor Oil is a pure, cold-pressed oil with a naturally thick and dense texture. Because of this viscosity, it is generally not recommended as a light, all-over face oil for daily use, particularly if you have oily, combination, or acne-prone skin. The oil works by forming a light protective film on the surface of the skin, which helps reduce moisture loss but can feel heavy or "occlusive" to some users.

Instead, it is better suited for targeted treatments on drier, rougher areas. You might apply it to dry elbows, heels, cuticles, or hands during colder months when the skin barrier feels weakened by wind and low temperatures. For the face, if you wish to use it, apply it in very small amounts to specific dry patches rather than the entire face. If your skin is reactive or easily congested, it is advisable to patch-test a small amount on your inner arm or behind the ear first to see how your skin reacts before applying it to more sensitive facial areas.
