Is R.O.C.S. Sensitive toothpaste suitable if my teeth hurt with cold drinks or brushing?

R.O.C.S. Sensitive toothpaste is intended for daily oral care when teeth feel reactive to everyday triggers such as cold drinks, sweet foods, cold air, or brushing in specific areas. Its role is to clean the teeth while making the brushing routine more comfortable for people who find strongly abrasive pastes unpleasant.

The key sensitivity-focused ingredient in this formula is potassium nitrate. In oral care, potassium nitrate is used because it helps reduce how strongly the tooth nerve responds to external triggers. This is not usually an instant effect after one brushing; it is something that builds with consistent use as part of a regular routine.

The formula also contains calcium glycerophosphate and sodium glycerophosphate, which are mineral sources that support enamel remineralisation. This can be useful in areas that need extra care, including the boundary between a filling and the natural tooth surface. Xylitol is included to help maintain a more favourable oral environment and support plaque control between brushings.

If the discomfort is strong, starts suddenly, or is limited to one tooth, it is better to ask a dentist to check for issues such as a cavity, cracked tooth, or gum recession. Stop using the product if irritation occurs.
