Is it suitable to use on the face?

You can use it on the face if you want, but it is not marketed as a facial cleanser, so treat it as a body soap that some people happen to tolerate well on the face. Facial skin is thinner and more reactive than body skin, and solid soaps — especially those with botanical ingredients — are more likely to leave the face feeling stripped than a liquid cleanser. The key is to start gently.

Wet your face, lather a small amount between your palms or with a washcloth, apply, and rinse immediately. Do not rub the solid bar directly over the eyes or eyelids, and keep the lather out of the eye area, since turmeric can sting. If the skin feels tight, red, or uncomfortable after one or two uses, the soap is probably not the right cleanser for your face — use it for the body or hands instead. People with oily, normal, or generally less reactive skin are the typical candidates for using a turmeric bar as a facial wash, but individual responses vary. A short patch test on the jawline or behind the ear for 24 hours is a practical way to check tolerance before applying it to the whole face.

Like all turmeric soaps, this product is not intended to treat acne, eczema, or other skin conditions. It is a cleansing product only, and its botanical content is meant to contribute to skin that looks fresh and balanced after washing, not to replace a dermatological treatment. If you have rosacea, very dry skin, or an active facial rash, it is safer to stick with a gentle non-soap cleanser.
