I'm sensitive to bee products. Is this lip balm safe for me?

This Laura Conti lip balm contains propolis extract. Propolis is a resin-like substance collected by bees, and it is a known potential allergen for some individuals. While it is appreciated in cosmetics for its soothing properties, if you have a history of sensitivity or allergic reactions to bee-derived ingredients like honey, royal jelly, or pollen, you should be particularly cautious.

To check for a reaction, apply a very small amount of the balm to a discreet area of skin on the inside of your arm or behind your ear. Wait 24-48 hours and observe for any signs of redness, itching, stinging, or swelling. If you experience any of these reactions, do not use the product on your lips. The product note clearly states: if your lips sting, become more red, or react unexpectedly, stop use and choose a simpler formula without propolis. There are many effective lip balms based on plant oils, butters, and waxes that avoid bee-derived ingredients.
