I have a sensitive scalp. Can I use this balm? — Traditional Siberian Balm No. 3 - Against Hair Loss, with Burdock and Propolis, Grandma Agafi's Recipes, 550 ml

This balm contains propolis, sage and caraway essential oils, and a fragranced cosmetic base. These ingredients give the product its herbal, 'Grandma Agafia' character, but they are also the most likely triggers for sensitive skin. If you know you react to propolis, essential oils or perfumed cosmetics, this is not the safest choice for your scalp.

Because it is a rinse-out conditioner, you do not have to apply it to the scalp at all. Focus it on the lengths and ends, keep it away from the roots, and rinse thoroughly. That reduces the chance of irritation while still giving you the detangling and smoothing benefits. If you have very sensitive skin, do a small patch test on the inside of your forearm before using it on your hair, and wait 24 hours to see if any redness or itching appears.

Stop using the product if you notice irritation, burning, redness or itching. Avoid contact with the eyes and other mucous membranes; if the balm gets into your eyes, rinse them with plenty of clean water. If you have a chronic scalp condition or are unsure whether propolis is safe for you, consult a specialist before use.
