I have a fish allergy and a sensitive scalp. Is this shampoo safe for me?

The manufacturer explicitly warns that if you have a very sensitive scalp or if you react to fish-derived ingredients or plant extracts such as hops, you should use this shampoo with caution and stop use if irritation appears. It contains beluga caviar extract, which is a fish-derived ingredient, so anyone who is allergic or reactive to fish should treat it as a potential trigger.

If you are not sure whether your fish allergy also applies to cosmetic use on the scalp, ask an allergist before trying it. A dermatologist can also advise if you already have scalp sensitivity or a history of skin reactions to cosmetics. If you do decide to try it, do a patch test first: apply a small amount behind the ear or on the inside of the forearm, rinse it off and wait 24–48 hours to see whether redness, itching or burning appears. If any reaction develops, do not apply it to your scalp.

Avoid contact with the eyes, as with any shampoo. If the product gets into the eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water. For a very sensitive scalp, start with a small amount and wash gently rather than scrubbing.
