How strong is the warming effect, and what should I do the first time I use this cream?

The warming sensation in this cream is deliberate: red pepper extract is the main heat trigger, reinforced by ginger, cinnamon and fir oils, so the warmth is clearly noticeable rather than a subtle tingle. Because individual skin reactions vary a lot, the first application should be small, not generous. Squeeze out a limited amount, massage it gently into one zone such as a shoulder or the back of a leg, and give it a few minutes before deciding whether to apply more.

A patch test is the sensible first step if your skin reacts easily. Put a tiny amount on a small area such as the inner forearm, wait and observe. If strong burning, spreading redness or itching develops, rinse the area and do not use the cream further. Keep the product off broken, irritated or freshly shaved skin, and away from the eyes, mouth, nose and other sensitive areas.

Until you know your tolerance, use the cream on small, specific zones rather than the whole body. The heat can feel more intense when the skin is already warm, for example after a hot shower, so it is also wise not to layer tight clothing or other warming products over the same spot. If the sensation ever becomes unpleasant, wash the area with mild soap and water. After every use, wash your hands with soap so you do not transfer the cream to your eyes or other delicate places.
