How should I use this toothpaste for the best anti-plaque and fresh-mouth effect?

Use Pasta del Capitano Antitartaro as you would a regular fluoride toothpaste: brush all tooth surfaces carefully, including the gumline, chewing surfaces and the inner side of the front teeth. The anti-tartar benefit depends on regular contact during brushing, because plaque can start accumulating again soon after meals, snacks or smoking.

The formula contains pyrophosphates to help reduce mineral deposits attaching to the tooth surface, hydrated silica to help remove surface plaque and staining through brushing, and fluoride to support enamel resistance against acid attack from food and bacteria. Zinc compounds, including Sulfetal Zn® and zinc citrate, are included because they help act on compounds linked with unpleasant mouth odour. Mint, sage and thyme give the toothpaste a clean herbal freshness after brushing.

For a stronger routine, combine brushing with daily interdental cleaning, especially if plaque collects between teeth or around dental work. Avoid brushing too aggressively: pressure is less effective than careful coverage and can irritate gums. If you are using other fluoride products, or if the toothpaste is for a young child, follow the package directions and ask a dentist for advice when needed.
