Wet the hair thoroughly before applying the shampoo. Use a moderate amount and massage it into the scalp with your fingertips, where sebum, dust and styling residue collect. The lengths usually do not need aggressive rubbing; the foam that runs through them while rinsing is often enough to cleanse them without increasing friction.
Rinse well, especially near the roots and behind the ears, because leftover shampoo can make hair feel less fresh. If your hair has a lot of styling product or feels very oily, you may prefer a second light wash, but avoid repeatedly scrubbing fragile lengths. After rinsing, gently squeeze out excess water rather than twisting the hair.
For the best smoothing effect, follow with a keratin balm, conditioner or mask. This matters because the shampoo works mainly during washing, while a follow-up product remains on the hair longer and can better support softness, detangling and a more polished finish. When combing wet hair, start from the ends and move upward to reduce pulling on tangled areas.
