Use this cream in the morning on clean, dry skin. After cleansing, apply a small amount to the face and gently smooth it over the skin, avoiding unnecessary pulling or rubbing. If you also use a water-based serum, it would typically go on first, followed by this cream to help seal in hydration and leave the skin feeling more comfortable.
Because this is a day cream, it fits best as the moisturising step of a morning routine. The formula contains humectants such as glycerin and sodium hyaluronate, which help attract and hold water, plus emollients such as shea butter, argan oil and caprylic/capric triglyceride, which help soften the skin and reduce moisture loss. Applying it while the skin is slightly hydrated from cleansing or a serum can make moisturising ingredients feel more effective.
This cream is not described as containing sun protection, so if you are going outdoors, apply a suitable sunscreen as the final skincare step after the cream has absorbed. Makeup can usually be applied afterwards as well; allow the cream a short time to settle first, especially if you use foundation or powder.
For best tolerance, introduce it gradually if your skin is reactive or if you are changing several products at once. If irritation, stinging or persistent redness occurs, stop using it and consider checking the ingredient list with a skincare professional.
