How should I use this balm for best results? — Traditional Siberian Balm No. 3 - Against Hair Loss, with Burdock and Propolis, Grandma Agafi's Recipes, 550 ml
Use it as the conditioning step after shampoo. Squeeze excess water from your hair first, because a balm applied to dripping wet hair spreads unevenly and gets rinsed away too quickly. Take a small amount — roughly a walnut-sized portion for shoulder-length hair, more for very long or thick hair — and work it mainly through the lengths and ends. These are the oldest, most damaged parts of the hair and the areas where tangles and breakage usually appear.
Leave it on for one to three minutes. This gives the hydrolyzed milk protein, panthenol and conditioning agents time to coat the hair surface. If your hair feels very dry or has been colored or heat-styled, you can leave it a little longer, but there is no need to keep it on for many minutes. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Warm water helps remove the balm without leaving a heavy residue; very hot water can increase roughness.
You can use it after every shampoo, including on the same day as a clarifying wash. It is designed to be rinsed out, so do not apply it and skip rinsing. For a lighter effect, use a smaller amount; for very dry ends, you can add a little extra to the last few centimetres. Avoid rubbing the hair with a towel after rinsing — pat it gently, then comb with a wide-tooth comb while it is still damp.
If your scalp is sensitive or you react easily to essential oils, propolis or fragranced cosmetics, keep the balm away from the scalp and rinse well. Avoid contact with eyes.
