The mask is a single 30 g sheet format shaped to follow facial contours more closely than a flat mask, which helps the essence stay in contact with the skin. Start with clean, dry skin, then unfold the sheet and place it over the face, smoothing it so it sits against the curves of the cheeks, nose and chin. Most sheet masks of this type are left on for about 10–20 minutes; during that time the film-forming snail mucin and moisture in the essence reduce the feeling of dryness and the sheet creates a short occlusive effect that limits quick water loss from the upper skin layers.
After removing the sheet, you can gently pat any remaining essence into the skin instead of rinsing it off, then follow with a regular moisturiser if your routine includes one. Because the main effect is a temporary boost in softness, bounce and a more rested appearance, it is best used before makeup or an event, after a lack of sleep, or when skin feels stressed by heating or wind. Avoid using it on irritated or damaged skin, and if you are new to snail cosmetics or fragranced mask essences, do a patch test on a small area first.
